What is Prismic?
Prismic is a headless CMS built for teams that build websites with component-driven frontends. Its core innovation is Slice Machine — a local development environment where developers define content components in code and Prismic generates the CMS interface and type-safe APIs automatically.
Editors build pages by selecting from a library of Slices in the visual Page Builder, seeing changes in a live preview without any frontend configuration from developers.
G2 Reviews
Rated 4.3/5 from 138 verified reviews.
"Prismic's Slice Machine is the best content component workflow I have used. My team defines Slices in code, they automatically appear in the CMS, and editors can build pages without any developer involvement. The Next.js integration is excellent."
Frontend Developer · Agency
"We chose Prismic for its simplicity and the flat document model. Contentful felt over-engineered for our marketing site use case. Prismic's page builder meant our marketing team could launch new landing pages without us."
Lead Engineer · Startup
"The visual editor has improved a lot with Slice Machine 2.0. Being able to see exactly what the page will look like while editing has removed a lot of back-and-forth with developers. The CMS is clean and not overwhelming for non-technical users."
Content Strategist · Mid-Market
"Prismic hits the sweet spot between developer flexibility and editor simplicity. The type generation from Slice Machine schemas means I catch content errors at compile time, not at runtime. Deployment and preview environments work out of the box with Vercel."
